About Sunshine Pool Guide

A directory of Florida pool builders that shows its work: where each listing came from, what we checked, and what we couldn't.

Who makes it

Sunshine Pool Guide is published by Local Guide Press, an imprint of Own the Answer Inc. The research editor is Jenna Payne. In her words:

I’m Jenna Payne, research editor at Local Guide Press. My job on this site is unglamorous: I pull every listed business from public records, match it against the Florida DBPR license file so the license status is the state’s and not ours, read the company’s website so the service details are theirs, and mark what I could and couldn’t confirm. Nothing here is a review. If a listing is wrong or out of date, email me and I’ll fix it — usually within five business days.

What's in it

1272 pool builders in 125 Florida cities, 694 of them state-licensed (DBPR), with 7,938 individual service facts checked against company websites. Listings were pulled from public business records in October 2026 and checked on November 2, 2026. The method is documented here, and the statewide counts are on Florida pool builders by the numbers.

What we will never do

• Sell a spot in the main list. Ranking is by verification and completeness, never by payment or rating.
• Reproduce star ratings or reviews from other platforms.
• Write a service onto a listing the company's own website doesn't describe.
• Run an undisclosed placement. Paid cards sit in bands labeled "Sponsored".
• Use AI-generated photos of people or of a contractor's "work".
